Memorial Forest is an upscale neighborhood in western Houston, TX. The neighborhood is part of Memorial Houston in the Galleria area. The residential neighborhood is bordered by Barryknoll Lane to the north, Gessner Road to the west and Memorial Drive to the south.

Memorial Forest is one of the 20 most expensive neighborhoods in Houston, and it’s made up of single-family homes. Most homes were built in the 1950s and feature larger yards than other Houston homes. There are about 280 homes in the neighborhood, which have an average of four bedrooms.

The neighborhood is popular with families and working professionals as it’s close to top-rated schools and is conveniently located for easy commutes. Residents enjoy a quiet surrounding while being close to plenty of entertainment and retail outlets.

The Memorial City mall is just north of Memorial Forest. The mall has a number of shops and restaurants, plus an ice skating rink, movie theater and dining options.

Memorial Forest is an affluent neighborhood made up of families and working professionals. Residents are well-educated, and the average household income is about $200,000 a year. Most residents are working adults in their 40s with an average age of 44.

Families can also easily commute to a variety of entertainment venues. Memorial Forest is close to Memorial City Mall, the Houston Museum District and Hermann Park.

Bunker Hill Elementary School: Bunker Hill is the closest elementary school as it directly borders Kimberley Lane. The school has programs from pre-kindergarten through fifth grade. The school’s program is designed to help children become critical thinkers and problems solvers so that they can succeed beyond the classroom. Frostwood Elementary School: Frostwood Elementary is the second closest school and it serves kids from pre-k through fifth grade. It is located in between Gessner Road and Memorial Drive. The school supports creative learning so that students are not only prepared academically for the real world, but also socially, morally and technologically.
MIDDLE
Memorial Middle School: Memorial Middle School is located near Bendwood Park just west of Memorial Forest. Students attend Memorial from sixth to eighth grade. In addition to its academic program, the school also offers an excellent athletics program and a variety of extracurricular activities. Spring Branch Middle School: Spring Branch Middle School is just east of Memorial Forest on Piney Point Road. The school has an excellent athletics program and students can participate in everything from football and soccer to track and volleyball. Extracurricular activities include a fine arts program, a lego club and a math team, to name a few.
HIGH
Memorial Senior High School: Memorial Senior High is east of Memorial Forest on Echo Lane. Students are challenged with a rigorous academic program that includes plenty of elective options. There are also large athletics and arts programs and even a separate performing arts center on campus. Westchester High School: Westchester High is west of Memorial Forest in Memorial, Houston. The school is an International Baccalaureate school serving students from sixth through twelfth grade. Westchester is highly esteemed and was named a National Blue Ribbon school in 2011. It also has a Japanese Language School on campus.
PRIVATE
St. Cecilia School: St. Cecilia is a Catholic school on Bunker Hill Road that serves students from pre-kindergarten until eighth grade. The school helps children grow within the Catholic faith while helping them develop their mind, body and spirit. St. Cecilia offers a strong academic curriculum as well as extensive arts and athletics programs. Holy Spirit Episcopal School: Holy Spirit Episcopal School is west of Memorial Forest on Perthshire Road. This private institution is a faith-based preparatory school that has programs for children from pre-k through eighth grade. Students at Holy Spirit are challenged with the tough academic curriculum while being encouraged to participate in the arts, the sports program or one of the many enrichment programs.
