ABOUT Ohio City
Ohio City is a bustling neighborhood located just outside of Cleveland’s vibrant downtown. The neighborhood is made up of a combination of residential and commercial properties, with restaurants and small businesses mingling with apartments and family homes.
Home to the West Side Market, residents don’t have to travel far to enjoy high-end shopping, fine dining options and other amenities. The historic West Side Market was built in 1912 and was modeled on the quintessential indoor markets of Europe. Today, it attracts about one million visitors every year.
Ohio City has been home to many notable figures, including former President James A. Garfield and athlete John Heisman. Today, the Heisman Trophy is still located in Ohio City and it’s awarded annually to the best college football player.

Education

Ohio City is served by the second largest school district in Ohio, the Cleveland Metropolitan School District. Families can choose between a number of distinguished public and private schools that serve students from pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade.
The elementary and middle school options include Paul L. Dunbar and Walton Elementary, with Luis Muñoz Marín located just to the east in Tremont. High schools include Lincoln-West just south of the neighborhood and Max S. Hayes just west.
