Southampton Place, also referred to simply as Southampton, is a neighborhood in southwest Houston. The residential neighborhood sits nestled in between the Houston Museum District and West University Place, making it an attractive place to live for both families and young professionals alike.

There are a variety of homes in Southampton, including large Georgian-style houses, quaint brick cottages, bungalows and more. Residents can enjoy the local Fleming Park or drive a short five minutes to stunning Hermann Park.

Although largely residential, there are a few bars and restaurants located within the neighborhood. For even more options, residents can head to Rice Village. Sitting just five minutes south of Southampton, Rice Village boasts a large selection of shops and dining options in a historic location.

Southampton Place is also conveniently located less than five minutes away from the Southwest Freeway. Those who travel into Downtown Houston for work enjoy easy and stress free commutes from Southampton.

Southampton Place is one of the richest neighborhoods in Houston, and residents are affluent working professionals. The neighborhood is in a Homeowner Association called the Southampton Civic Club Inc. Houses are expensive and demand is high due to the neighborhood’s central location and low crime rate.

SCHOOLS IN Southampton Place

The only school located within Southampton Place is Southampton Montessori. However, despite not having any other schools within its borders, Southampton is close to the best schools Houston has to offer.

The closest public schools to Southampton are Poe Elementary, Lanier Middle School and Lamar High School. However, the well-known private institutions of Episcopal High School and Post Oak High School are also nearby.

MIDDLE
Lanier Middle School: Lanier Middle School is the closest middle school to Southampton and it’s about 5 minutes north of the neighborhood. The school is 10 minutes west of Southampton on the Houston Community College West Loop campus. Post Oak High School: Post Oak High School is an excellent private alternative for high schoolers. This well-known Montessori institution is located within Houston’s Museum District.
