ABOUT Stockyards
Stockyards is one of the neighborhoods on the near west side of Cleveland.
The neighborhood was well known as a primary center for the transport and processing of livestock. Stockyards was the site of the old Cleveland Union livestock yards – one of the country’s largest slaughterhouse and meatpacking operations – and the Pilsener Brewing Company.
Over the years, the neighborhood has enjoyed an industrial boom with the development of industrial and commercial districts in the area.
The majority of housing units in the neighborhood are one to two-story single-family homes located in the northern and eastern sections.
