West Park Neighborhood Guide

West Park is a vibrant neighborhood located on the far west side of Cleveland, Ohio. The community is made up of four neighborhoods – Kamm’s Corners, Jefferson, Bellaire-Puritas, and Riverside.

West Park is known for its quiet, tree-lined streets, parks, and playgrounds. Residents here get to experience the suburban feel while enjoying the company of many families taking afternoon walks or bike rides.

The diverse neighborhood is home to a range of housing styles and designs, the majority of which are single-family bungalow houses featuring 1920s woodwork.

The neighborhood is also home to a busy commercial district where residents get to explore a collection of bars and restaurants that feature live entertainment. The community also enjoys easy access to a number of urban parks and retail shops.

West Park is well-known for its family-oriented activities that bring friendly neighbors together through outdoor recreation and festivities.

West Park is home to about 23,000 residents. Nearly 12,000 residents make up the neighborhood’s workforce, and about 34% of workers are employed in white-collar jobs.

5.96% of the working population hold jobs in government, while about 33.67% work in private companies. The most common types of jobs in the neighborhood include business and financial occupations, sales and office occupations, and management occupations.

West Park has a high population of young professionals and families with children. The median age is 39.

The majority of the population is represented by White residents, accounting for about 89%. Latino residents account for about 8% of the population, followed by Black residents accounting for about 4%.

The public schools serving West Park are under the jurisdiction of the Cleveland Metropolitan School District.

West Park is a suburban, residential neighborhood where the majority of housing units are single-family homes. The neighborhood enjoys a good mix of owners and renters.

Most of the properties in the neighborhood were built in 1939 and earlier. There are also a number of units built between 1940 to 1959 and from 2000 up to the present.

The housing units have styles that range from colonial and traditional to bungalows that have modern upgrades. Most single-family homes have three to four bedrooms and one to two bathrooms.

Many of the neighborhood’s upgraded bungalows feature new front porches and oversized backyards. Modern upgrades include hardwood floors, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, spacious bedrooms, private patios, and two-car garages.
