Things to do

Redondo Beach is a beachfront city at its core, but the city also has many other activities and venues worth exploring. Public swimming pools, sprawling beaches, sightseeing areas, and multiple local parks located further inland are all found in Redondo Beach. Plus, local golf courses and wilderness parks are also available to residents, so swimming, boating, beachside sports, hiking, and much more are all possible things to do around town. Redondo Beach Pier has a number of shops and restaurants, and the SEA Lab operated by LA Conservation Corps welcomes visitors to learn about marine conservation. South Bay Galleria is an expansive local shopping area that residents also frequent, and the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center is only one local cultural venue that puts on regular shows. If traveling outside of Redondo Beach and visiting iconic California attractions sounds like a plan, then residents are just 20 miles from Downtown Los Angeles and about 30 miles away from Disneyland Park.
Parks & Recreation
Local parks include Veterans Park, a beachside playground, and Hopkins Wilderness Park, where visitors enjoy camping and nature walks. El Nido Park RC Track has ball courts and green spaces, and Redondo Beach Dog Park has 3 separate fenced areas. Beaches include Seaside Lagoon, Hermosa Beach Pier, and Moonstone Park to only name several locations along the city’s western edge.
Shopping
Several impressively rated shopping malls in the area include South Bay Galleria, Redondo Shores Shopping Center, Hermosa Avenue, and Park Pacific Shopping Center. Many chain department stores and recognizable brands can be found throughout the city’s corners, and locally-owned shops and business are also a treat. Papillon, Ribbons, Alandrea, and Catwalk are a few of many great venues to visit.
Art & Culture
Bo Bridges Gallery, Riley Arts Gallery, Jill Sanders Gallery, and DION Gallery are several of many local galleries. Meanwhile, Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center puts on regular shows and events. The Redondo Beach Historical Museum houses local memorabilia, and Wonder of Dinosaurs is a museum located on the northeastern side of the city. Plus, more great museums are short commutes away.
Night Life
Naja’s Place is a vibrant local watering hole, and Avenue A Bar and Grill is a favorite establishment for sports fans. Thirsty Club is a classic cocktail bar, and Pitcher House Upper Deck is commonly listed among the best establishments in the city. Starboard Attitude, Hudson House, and R/10 Social House are several other fun places around the city.
Restaurants
Many well-rated eateries are found along the coast. Bluewater Grill, Chart House, and Kincaid’s Fish, Chop & Steakhouse all have stunning views and fresh dishes. Dominique’s Kitchen is a French-Italian spot, and Turquoise Restaurant serves up Mediterranean plates. Ortega 120, Rock & Brews Redondo Beach, Riviera Mexican Grill, and Old Tony’s are several other tasty venues with impressive reputations.
REDONDO BEACH NEIGHBORHOODS

Southern areas of Redondo Beach have some of the highest costs of living in the city, and specifically the southwestern most corner is the most expensive with a median real estate price of $1.6 million. This tracks as more expensive than about 95% of California neighborhoods and 99% of neighborhoods across the country.

Meanwhile, neighborhoods located near Redondo Beach’s center are more affordable, with a median real estate price of $1.2 million. Even so, this number tracks as being more costly than 90.5% of other residential areas in the state and 98.1% of areas across the U.S.

Northern Redondo Beach areas are associated with a lower cost of living, and the most affordable part of the city is considered to be the northeastern corner. Here, the median real estate price is $866K, which is still more expensive than about 75% of cities and towns in California and 94.2% of neighborhoods in the nation.
