City Overview: Silverado, California is situated in the Santa Ana Mountains and is an up-and-coming residential area. Although this unincorporated community is small, Silverado has a big appeal to particular residents.
With an elevation of 1,211 feet and natural surroundings further inland from the Pacific Coast, Silverado started as a mining area back in the 19th century. As such, the community’s name is a remnant of the area’s history and previous industry. Because Silverado experienced a resurgence in the 1940s, new housing was built during the years following World War II.

Location: As its name implies, Silverado is found in Silverado Canyon. This area is located within the Santa Ana Mountains in Orange County’s eastern corner, and Silverado is also right next to Cleveland National Forest.
Limestone Canyon Regional Park and Santiago Canyon are west of Silverado, and Corona is a short distance north. Trabuco Canyon and Rancho Santa Margarita are both southeast of Silverado, and Whiting Ranch Wilderness Park and Modjeska Canyon are south.
To describe the unincorporated area’s location in relation to major California cities, Silverado is found around 50 miles southeast of Los Angeles and 25 miles northeast of Laguna Beach.
Commutes: Commutes to and from Silverado are scenic, though comparably less straightforward than driving between other Orange County cities.
Silverado Canyon Road, Irvine Mesa Road, and E Santiago Canyon Road are 3 frequented roadways in and around Silverado.
