Balboa Peninsula is among the neighborhoods in Newport Beach, CA, that is at high risk of massive flooding from high tides and high surf.

In the past, huge waves and surf of 5-7 feet hit the neighborhood and caused severe flooding. Waves as high as 10 feet had also crashed over the shore and rushed inland.

There were instances when the water stretched around three blocks inland and about two feet deep.

Many roads and areas in and around the neighborhood had also experienced knee-deep flooding following the high tides and surf.

Commute

Traveling on Balboa Boulevard all the way to the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) on the mainland will get allow you to pass through other Newport Beach neighborhoods.
